Struggling with weight since his teens, Glen Forde was inspired by his family to lose weight…and keep it off.
Q.What motivated you to lose weight?
A.I have a wife and 2 kids, and the oldest has special needs.
He will always rely on us for support (including us having to
physically carry him). I knew I needed to be healthier for him
and my family as long as I can and in the greatest capacity
that I can.
Q.So, how did you go about losing weight?
A.I have always been active, as I am a martial artist, but I never got to my ultimate goal weight. Due to my work schedule
and personal obligations, I could not work out at the
Fitness Center, so I learned about alternative programs,
including a 25-minute daily workout plan. I thought, “I can do that!” With the exercise program, and by changing my nutrition from 3 large meals a day to 6-8 smaller meals, the pounds began to fall off.
Q.What has been your proudest accomplishment during
your journey?
A.Seeing real results in the mirror and being able to take
better care of my son and family.
Q.Did you discover other health benefits along the way?
A.Yes! I have a healthier state of mind, more energy, and my
breathing is much better (no more huffing and puffing).
Q.Do you have any advice you can share with others?
A.You are your own inspiration. Set your own goals, go for it,
and don’t give up. Do what works for YOU. Success is very
individualized. Like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said: “If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl; but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”
